When Shah Rukh Khan Spoke Golden Words

He is not only the King of Bollywood, but also of wit and humor. His comments in media and tweets on twitter have always proved his extravaganza. On his 50th birthday, I highlight some of Shah Rukh Khan’s golden words.

“I truly believe my job is to make sure people smile.”

“Cinema in India is like brushing your teeth in the morning. You can’t escape it.”

“There’s no such thing as ‘normal’. That’s just another word for lifeless. Madness (of the particularly nice/romantic kind) is an absolute prerequisite to a happy and successful life. Don’t ever treat your little insanities as if they are aberrations that ought to be hidden from the rest of the world. All the most beautiful people in the world, the most creative, the ones who led revolutions, who discovered and invented things, did so because they embraced their own idiosyncrasies.”

When SRK was asked, “Salman Khan was moved to tears during your stage appearance together at Sensations 2005, when you said kind words about him. Is your relationship going well now?”

SRK replied: “Yeah, it’s going really well. We’re planning to have a baby together soon.”

“Reporter: When will you start making different movies? Better movies?

SRK: When will you start asking different questions? Better questions?”

“Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I take a trip to the US. The immigration guys kick the star out of my stardom…”

“Fan: Come to Washington DC…

SRK: Elected or unelected?”

“I could lie and say my wife cooks for me, but she doesn’t. My wife has never learnt cooking but she has great cooks at home.”

“Whenever I fail as a father or husband… a toy and a diamond always works.”

Karan Johar, on a Koffee With Karan episode: “If you woke up one morning and found out that you have turned in Aamir, you would…?”

Here is wishing the superstar a very very happy birthday! May the Rahul in him always be alive!

P. S. And if Shah Rukh Khan ever reads this (no chance though), like, ever, two of my great friends, Sheetal, Shravi and Siddharth, are one of your greatest fans, and would literally kill to meet you! (hahhhahhhha)
